I swore I'd stop putting up sketchy, monochrome things, but really...on an average day...this is all I have time for without driving myself insane.

This was practice in thinking of a concept FIRST, then forcing it onto paper, something most of you know I have problems with. I used Nanaki from Final Fantasy VII because he is interesting to me. Animals with spiky hair and earrings and feathers are love.

From right to left, then down, then right to left again, etc. -

The Howl - Not a howl, the howl. People who have played the game should know where this came from. I am still curious as to why a creature so feline sounds so canine when he howls...until Advent Children...

Sleepy, drooly - I don't know why, but a voice in my head challenged me to this. Perhaps he is dreaming of what he'd do if he could only break into the Chocobo holding station on the Highwind...

Attempting to Dodge? - This is a younger Nanaki, before he lost his right eye. All I wanted in this pic was the angle, so the expression was an afterthought. Perhaps he is in a fight.

Aeris used to... - I don't remember the quote exactly right, but this one is based on something Nanaki says towards the end of the game. "Aeris always used to pet me on the nose...I hated being treated like a child like that, but I liked the attention." He is supposed to look annoyed, like, "I get this all the time. I'm not a damn pet!*"

Poking a Cub - This is actually the first one I did. I wanted him to be looking at/poking one of his first [/last?] cubs curiously. I thought it'd be cute. It didn't come out how I wanted, though. Maybe next time.
